Difficult
This trail at the University of the South is known for some of the Southeast’s most diverse and spectacular wildflowers, which bloom from mid-March to late April, usually peaking around April 1st. It can be hiked as an out-and-back (3.4 miles), or, if you leave a second car at the Green’s View trailhead, as a one-way, 1.7 mile walk. The trail becomes quite steep as it approaches the Green’s View terminus, so we recommend parking at Green’s View if you have two cars available. Otherwise, access this adventure from the University Gates trailhead on US41A, as you enter the University domain from Monteagle.

Shakerag Hollow
One of the University of the South's most popular hikes - especially when wildflowers are blooming in the spring. Descend into Shakerag Hollow, climb stone stairs up to Green's View.
