Moderate

Lake Dimmick
00:00 / 01:04

This is a moderate, 6.2 mile out-and-back hike to one of the principal water reservoirs for the University of the South. Begin at the Sewanee Visitor Center on US 41A, and walk about a half mile east on the paved Mountain Goat Trail (toward I-24), where a trail junction to the right will take you 2.5-mile woodland adventure, across TN Route 156, past the upper end of Lake Jackson, and on to Lake Dimmick, where there is a small dock and swimming area. After a relaxing break at the lake, retrace your steps to the Sewanee Visitor Center.
