A moderate 2.7 mile “lollipop loop”, the Caldwell Rim Trail at the University of the South can be accessed from the Ball Park Trailhead. The Ballpark access trail runs alongside the playing field fence. Continue to the intersection and follow trail signs for the Caldwell Rim Trail. A small portion of this trail follows one of the many fire roads that crisscross the University’s massive campus. Follow the signs and you’ll return to the Ballpark access trail, and the parking area. Access this adventure from the Ballpark Trailhead on Ball Park Road, behind the Sewanee Market.
