Black Canyon is technically a cascade, not a waterfall, but it is one of the most picturesque sites in the Fiery Gizzard -- a sluice that combines the waters of Fiery Gizzard Creek with Little Fiery Gizzard Creek to create a white, frothy cataract worthy of any photographer's attention. Access Black Canyon via the Grundy Forest Loop Trail; cross the large metal bridge across Little Fiery Gizzard Creek (also the beginning of the famed Fiery Gizzard Trail) and follow it about a half-mile to Black Canyon. Please note that there is no swimming in the Canyon, and because of the occasionally steep terrain, please stay on the Grundy Forest Loop Trail at all times, especially where the trail runs alongside the creeks. Return to the trailhead the way that you came, although you can turn left or right on the Grundy Forest Loop Trail after you re-cross the metal bridge over Little Fiery Gizzard Creek -- either direction ultimately brings you back to the trailhead, but turning right is shorter.

Black Canyon Cascade
One of the most picturesque sites in the Fiery Gizzard, Black Canyon is technically a cascade, not a waterfall, but still an amazing sight, as two creeks come together and are squeezed through a narrow rock opening. Access this adventure from the Fiery Gizzard North trailhead.
