TWO Michelin Guide Restaurants on the Mountain!
The prestigious Michelin Guide lists 37 Tennessee restaurants, almost all of them in major cities. But the tiny village of Sewanee boasts two from that list!

Judith
A recent addition to the restaurant scene in the Mountains of Adventure, Judith is the brainchild of Julia Sullivan (chef at Henrietta Red in Nashville). The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate at the University in 1969.
According to the Michelin Guide's review:
Chef Sullivan's cooking is talented, but the menu doesn't take itself too seriously, delivering crowd-pleasing dishes like chicken Milanese that isn't a strict interpretation but is just as delicious. A piping hot bowl of strawberry and rhubarb cobbler with a crust that's a cross between a cake and a biscuit is exactly how you'll want to end your meal.
Judith features a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates, perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red’s Beverage Manager, Patrick Halloran. Judith is located just behind the Sewanee Market in the Sewanee Village.
Lunch
Almost everything on the menu at Lunch is grown locally in Sewanee and around the Cumberland Plateau. Chef Mallory Grimm emphasizes seasonality, togetherness, and community. As the name implies, Lunch isn't open for dinner, except on specially announced reservation-only dates. However, it begins serving outstanding pastries, coffee, frittatas and more at 9am.
The Michelin Guide says:
This Sewanee operation lives up to its name, open from morning to afternoon and serving a concise menu featuring products from local farms that may offer up the likes of seasonal salads, huevos rancheros or a steak sandwich on house-made baguette with Gruyère, tender peppers and onions, and chimichurri sauce. Be sure to save room for one (or more) of the freshly baked pastries, say a wedge of zucchini cake with buttermilk glaze.
This means you can enjoy two Michelin Guide restaurants in the same day!
