Celebrate 250 Years of Freedom with Living History, Small-Town Spirit & Mountain Adventure

We can't contain a 250-year celebration to just one day. This year we're adding 8 living history events to our annual festivities.

Our nation's 250th will only happen once, and we've put together a once-in-a-lifetime series of celebrations. There's nothing quite like a small town 4th of July celebration, and with the cooler mountain air, there's no place like the communities of the South Cumberland to enjoy a calmer, more relaxed summer holiday. From Beersheba Springs to Sewanee, parades & fireworks to dancing & dog shows, there's always something for everyone!

And this year there's even more. The South Cumberland Partnership invites visitors and residents alike to experience South Cumberland Pioneers & Patriots, a Tennessee 250 commemorative living-history series that brings back to life the people who shaped our mountain communities.

From June through October, eight communities across the South Cumberland will host immersive living history events featuring costumed interpreters portraying the men and women who helped forge this rugged mountain region.

Here's a rundown of all that's happening in each community...
